How We Are ALL Affected by Racism and How Yoga Can Move Us Forward
This presentation will explore myriad repercussions of racism and how we can, and must, use yogic wisdom and practices as an entrée to move us all forward. As teachers of yoga, we are being called as agents of change. We have an opportunity to be advocates of healing and repairing ourselves and those that we serve. It is imperative that we give as much attention (if not more) to non-violence, truthfulness, non-stealing, self-study, humility, unity, and liberation from ignorance as we give to the alignment of a pose.
*This enriching experience is for everyone; and will contain lecture, reflection exercises, breath, meditation, and asana.

The Yoga of Self Care for Yoga Teachers: The Call of 2021 and Beyond
Are you ready for a refresh? Usher in health and happiness with the primordial call of self-care.
Patanjali Yoga begins with ahimsa. Ahimsa is not merely avoiding physical self-harm or hurting others. Its definition has a far broader scope and application, and it begins with self-care and kindness.
It’s so easy to begin a routine with a sacred vow to stay committed, however, somewhere along the way, we become too harsh with ourselves, shrinking our motivation and shriveling our optimism. Other times, we attempt a new practice with so much vigor and energy that we simply exceed our capacity and burn out. We may work tirelessly for the betterment of society, nation, or Mother Earth, but we neglect to remember that the seeds that we sow today may not bloom or fruit for us, but instead for future generations. We expect results too soon and end up feeling angry or frustrated with ourselves—as if we were not working hard enough or there was something more we should have done.
When we deprive the body, mind, and heart of much needed rest, care, and healing, it’s easy to turn away from fulfilling our most fundamental duty—care of ourselves and kindness. From self-care and kindness arises everything else—the possibility to give back, for our lives to be of purpose, to live by the foundational principles of Yoga, and the possibility to honor those who came before us—and who paved the path so lovingly with sacrifice and effortless giving. Yoga is to be explored and realized, not done and checked off. In 2021 and beyond, make self-care your priority.
Learn how to live the Yoga of Self-Care in 2021 and beyond.

reBUILD Your Yoga Business
A real talk conversation designed to support professional yoga teachers and studio owners reconstruct their businesses after a year of unprecedented change in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Never before has our industry faced such dramatic shifts to the way we practice + teach yoga. No matter what lineage, no matter what part of the country you live in, we all have lost something; many have lost everything. We have swung from one reality to the next, put out one fire after the other, and embraced new opportunities that have presented themselves as we have coped with an ever changing business environment. We have barely had time to catch our breaths, let alone to be strategic and to think ahead. But – not too far ahead, this series is designed to help business owners make the most of the next 12 months while the world recalibrates post Covid.
Our professional lives today look nothing like what they did a year ago and the truth is, we are not going back to normal. This defining moment for our industry is the true start of something new. So, how do we prepare best for an unknown future? How do we make the most of our new business environment? The answer is by reBUILDing – together.

We’ll identify how seasonal themes are resonant with our yoga practice, and how these themes can be used as a cornerstone to sequence. We’ll also explore how the chakras can be used as a guide to craft a practice that is both physically and energetically aligned with issues in the greater world. Then, using collective Covid grief as a sample theme, we’ll craft the structure of a class together. The workshop concludes with a 45-minute example flow practice.
